This is a resource I use with students completing a Functional Skills - English/Literacy course. It is a Speaking and Listening task, where students have to partake in a group discussion lasting 10 minutes. The group discussion is about favourite foods. This resource could be used for SEN students, to support them with the Speaking and listening course criteria.

This resource can be used with students that require support around building social skills. This is an activity where students can list 6 conversations starters on the sheet, before writing them onto a cube net and creating a conversation starter dice. You could use it as a social skills activity during Travel Training sessions, where students are encourage to practice good social skills in the local community; or used as evidence towards the Rarpa, PfA - Preparing for Adulthood target of Friends, Relationships & Community Skills.

ICT tutors can use the evidence assessment sheets to state what evidence is provided in the students portfolios, when students have demonstrated practical IT skills or completed paperwork for their EDSQ course. It covers all of the EDSQ, Pearson course criteria, but can be easily adapted to suit other course EDSQ curriculums, such as OCN or NOCN.

This is a 1 page resource that can be used for students that require support in building social skills, such as students with Autism or Entry Level 1-3. I use this Year Plan to plan my teaching year out (just a basic overview) before completing my Scheme of Learning. I like how you can see the whole year on one page :) I usually create a year plan for each subject. The Year Plan can be put at the front of each students’ folder and the student can see where they’re up to too, ideal for SEN students who like to know what’s coming next! This Year Plan is for the academic year 2023-2024 and based on the Bristol City Council academic term dates.

This resource is a scenario where students can plan a trip to their local Odeon cinema. You just need to add the appropriate info (street names etc.) for your local area! It gives advice to students of things they need to consider when planning their journey. It also encourages budgeting skills.

These 4 evidence sheets can be used to organise the students Entry Level 3 NOCN (National Open College Network) Basic Makeup Application course portfolio, in order to make it easier to find the NOCN criteria evidence. They are usually placed in front the accompanying NOCN Basic Makeup Appication Entry Level 3 Portfolio Assessment Sheets (which are an opportunity for students to provide photographic evidence for their qualification). NOCN Code: NOCN J/506/7928 It covers all criteria, from 1.1 to 4.2.

This is a resource that I use with students that require Travel Training sessions. This is a road safety poster task, which can be used as a classroom based activity for when the weather is bad or the students don’t want to go out. It can be used in conjunction with the Travel Training SEN Road Safety Quiz.

This is a resource I use for students who require IT, ICT or EDSQ (Essential Digital Skills Qualification) sessions. At the beginning of the year, the students state what their IT/ICT EHCP goal is and how they will achieve it in sessions. This goal is then reviewed again half way through the year and again at the end of the year to measure progress and achievement. (See accompanying EHCP goal review sheet.)
